Mirror Lake hike

Well, we decided after a few good Forest Park "practice" hikes, we decided to tackle a real legit hike!! We headed up to Mt. Hood to do the Mirror Lake hike. There were great bridges, rock scree fields and of course big beautiful trees! I did pretty good (at least that's what my mom and dad tell me), I hiked almost the whole way to the lake (so about 2 miles). Caitlyn on the other hand, she got the easy trip up the hill... on dad's back!







Oh yeah, and the dogs, they like it too, especially playing in the lake! Caits and I loved playing the lake too :)

Blueberry season!

Talk about blueberry heaven, we hit up this blueberry farm and picked and ate blueberry till we were blue in the face!! They really should weigh US coming and going because we're not very good at actually putting them in our buckets! I did for the first time get some in my bucket so I was pretty proud of myself for that :)

PDX Summer Concerts

One of my favorite things to do in Portland in the summer is going to all the free concerts! I'm not sure who enjoyed this one more, Caits and I or my mom and dad!!! Oh, and as for me, I worked out mastering how to roll down a hill most of the night :)

NWSS 2011

As always, this is a favorite weekend of the summer... we all pile into our fans and head to Hornings Hideaway, 70 acres of privately owned land where the host Yonder Mountain String band and a host of other bluegrass bands. Caits and I partied it up with the other kiddos while our parents enjoyed the tunes, their friends and a nice relaxed weekend. Can't wait till next year!!

I love hiking...

We've been putting in some trail time since the weather has been getting nicer.... and I have to say I LOVE hiking (that's what I told my parents too...) I especially like hiking with Mazie, but Bruno is fun to have along as well :)... I think Caitlyn likes it too, although she gets carried most of the time (ahh... the easy life :).

Strawberry picking season

We decided to head to the farm for some sweet Oregon strawberries! The best part about going picking is you get the eat them endlessly!! I think they should have probably weighed me in before and after because I probably ate about 5 lbs... And let me tell you about little Caitlyn, she didn't want to pick them, but she sure wanted them eat them (and preferably from the wagon...:). To top it off, we got to go for a tractor ride too!

Backyard Fun

It sure is fun having a little sister around... We find all sorts of ways to keep ourselves entertained!

Caitlyn gets Baptized!

This past weekend Caitlyn took the "plunge".... she got baptized! Uncle Andrew flew in to be her Nouno (Godfather in Greek) and family and friends joined us in celebrating her big day! Even Granny came in from Houston. Caitlyn tends to be a little feisty and that was definitely at the case at the baptism!! Between her wanting down, rolling around and hiding a couple times...she made the priest work for it that's for sure!! He was a good sport though and did a great job. As for me, I loved putting on a pretty dress and getting to where a necklace, it was a pretty special day so I wanted to do it up :). (Yes, I love wearing dresses and mom just doesn't know what to think!)

Our "pre" Father's Day

Daddy's has to go on a trip on Father's Day - so we decided to have a "Pre" Father's day with him. After waiting a few too many minutes at Helsers, we headed to our old fave Podnah's for brunch. You can never go wrong with Podnah's!! It was so yummy and I daddy LOVED his meal which was the whole goal of course :)
