Portland has the great tradition of shutting down their streets for only bike traffic a few times each summer. All the parks are loaded with kids and families riding their bikes around different neighborhoods... We decided to jump in again this year and this time, Caitlyn and I brought our bikes along to join in the fun. First you have to get up this BIG hill near our house - good thing for us dad was willing to push his bike, our trailer, us, and our bikes up the hill! Check out Caits ridin' with the best of them..
An attempt to keep up with our travel adventures, road trips, and day to day ups and downs.. life goes by too fast.. want a way to capture the moments along the way... :)

Bare buns...
Well not sure if you all have heard of the naked bike rides that take place here in Portland, but somehow Caitlyn must have gotten the word... (and yes, I do have a baby in my Ergo :)

Triple Falls hike
We decided to go for a "legit" hike as a family (yes, dogs included :). It's been a while since we've hit the gorge for a good hike, so we decided it was time to give it a go.... We headed to Triple Falls which was about 2 miles each way. My parents weren't sure if I was up for a 4 miler, but I'm not sure why - it was a piece of cake! (I'm a good hiker :). I hiked the whole thing with no complaints... and after watching me hike the whole way out, Caitlyn insisted on hiking the whole was back! She did awesome... we loved hopping on rocks, seeing the waterfall and finding some cool bugs and slugs along the way.
Mountain day
Future in diving?
I've been watching some diving on tv (and some of my mom's old videos) and I think i've learned a thing on two. Check out my back jump! (i'm teaching myself an inward dive too!)
School Art Show
A few weeks ago, we had our school art show. Each of the classes do a class project and we each get to do our own original piece as well. Here's some highlights of our show!
Our "Solar System" - check me out, i'm the astronaut!!
Caitlyn's body "shapes"
And Caitlyn's onesie self-painting... she put it on and painted herself... (I think that's kind of silly :)

Family Day
So when you get to pre-K, you get to have family day. I decided to have mine a few weeks ago, and since Yiayia and Papou are here, we got them in the mix. I was pretty excited to have my whole family come to my classroom for a day!
Let's see, we kicked things off some egg dying. We died them red because that's what we do for Greek Easter. Then while they dried we took my whole class to the rock gym! We had so much fun, everyone climbed and had a turn on the swing, then my mom impressed the class by climbing all the way to the top of the wall. I was proud of her :)

We all got to have lunch together (my mom really loved the sun butter sandwiches and carrot "fries"). Then we did the Greek tradition of "bumping" our red eggs. The person who ends up with an un-cracked egg gets good luck! Everyone had fun with it (except I did have one friend who got pretty upset b/c his egg cracked and he thought he'd have bad luck for a year... I had to let him know that's not how it works!)
Anyway, we finished it up with a little Greek lesson from my papou - we all learned how to count, say the alphabet and of course the infamous "Opa!"

Pancake breakfast for Mother's Day!
Since it was Mother's day, Caits and I decided (with the help of our teachers) to do a little something special for mommy. Caitlyn cooked her a pancake breakfast with all sorts of yummy toppings (like chocolate chips!!) and give this this beautiful flower.
As for me, I made her an awesome card using my shadows to write "I heart You" and gave her another beautiful flower. Here's an excerpt from my card: "All About My Mom"...
My mom is "6" years old.
Her favorite color is "pink".
Her favorite food is "bananas".
My mom always says "Stop Sophia".
My mom cooks the best "rice".
My mom's job is to "play puzzles with me".
My mom really loves "Caitlyn and me".
Happy Mother's Day!
