Friday night concerts in the park...

So, in the summer, they do these awesome free concerts in the park where everyone in the whole neighborhood comes out to listen to some tunes, have a picnic and role down the hills :)  My friends Chloe and Amelia and my Uncle John and Aunt Jennifer came too... we were trouble!!

Buddy... and Mirror Lake

So, one night we were driving home from a Timbers game and happened to come across this black lab wandering (and crossing) the streets near us... long story short, we took him in for a few weeks while trying to find his owner.  He was a sweet dog - we named him "Buddy Rainbow".

It was fun having Buddy around - we took him on runs and hikes and even tried to take him swimming but he was kind of a "broken lab' b/c he didn't want to play catch or swim which our dogs LOVE to do... either way he was fun to have around but I think we're better as a 2 dog family :)

Diving Olympic Trials!

Guess what we got to watch weekend... diving!  And the divers we saw are going to the Olympics!!

We had to drive a little bit and it was raining really, really hard (so it was a good thing the diving was inside :) but we didn't mind a bit..  I really love watching the girls dive the best.  We had to be really, really quite when they dove though and Caits kind of had a hard time with the little part... one time she fell behind the bleacher and started screaming when the boy was about to go off the 10 meter, I think my parents about had a heart attack (luckily he still did a good dive and even qualified for the Olympics!)    She decided to stick to the steps after that!!

Little hike to Pittock...

We have this awesome park close to our house called Forest Park... it has all sorts of trails that go on for lots and lots of miles... maybe some day we'll hike all of them! ... today we hiked up to Pittock Mansion which had this like awesome view of Portland.. for real life...  (yes, I actually talk like this these days...)

Cannon beach day...

We decided to head west today to play in the sand and check out the tide pools in at the Oregon coast... (note, that's it's not the beach so I'm told.. it's the coast - even though we went to Canon Beach... hmmm)

It was super fun, we played in the sand, jump in the puddles, did some yoga on the beach, and made some pretty awesome sand "sculptures"...  We love the coast!!

Smith Rock rocks.... :)

So we decided to be a bit more adventurous this weekend and headed to Smith Rock, OR with our friends Bailey and Parker to do some legit rock climbing!!  ... since mom and dad like to rock climb and their parents do to, they figured we could all go together!    That place was pretty fun for us, but really I think my mom and dad had the most fun :)  We were very helpful though, organizing climbing gear, pulling the rope, keeping a lookout for snakes... what would they do without us there??

We hiked all the way into this perfect little section called "Phoenix" where we got to play on the rocks and watch our parents climb all the way up to the top!  They were awesome... maybe one day Caits and I will climb to the top too...
