Caits first road trip!!

Caitlyn got to experience her first road trip this weekend! We all packed up and headed to Boise for our cousin Jerome's wedding. She did pretty well on the drive - we only had to make one stop (I gave her some tips on how to keep yourself entertained while in the car - see my Jan 1 post.) I think the highlight was when dad climbed into the back seat with us... I was impressed that he fit between our car seats!!
We had a great time in Boise - we hit up the Farmer's Market, checked out the views from Bogus Basin, and went to a Football Game!! I loved the market and the "hike" was cool and all but the BSU game was definitely the highlight. I LOVED it!! I cheered really loud, danced to the band, and even got to see a horse run on the field!! I've even been working on my football stance. Watch out!!

The wedding was great too... Caitlyn decided to chime in here and there during the ceremony so I tried to do what I could to keep her quiet. I think I was a big help, but not sure mom and dad would agree :)

It was fun to hang out with David & Helen and Jerome & Jackie they are super sweet and take good care of Caits and I. I also got to meet my dad's cousins Gwen & Phil - I loved hanging out with Gwen - she was super fun! see ALL the pics here!

I like to ride my bicycle...

and sometimes I just like to carry it :)

Dad's Big Ride

My dad did a HUGE bike ride this past weekend. I was pretty proud of him - he rode like 100 miles (that seems like ALOT!).. I got to hang out with mom and Caitlyn and my friend Thijs (who's dad and opa did the ride too!)

It was fun seeing them on the ride but the best part was stopping at the fruit stand to do some shopping and visit with the goats!!

I think I could make a career of this...

So I discovered this microphone (a.k.a. guitar stand) the other day in the basement and started putting on "concerts". I think I'm a really good singer and after being to a few shows now, I think I've got the stage performance pretty much figured out as well... might have to work on my wardrobe a bit though.

Come by sometime and see one of my "shows"! I even perform outside when it's nice :)

Willie Nelson rocks!

Well, I don't think mom and dad were too excited about the weather report for the Willie Nelson show, but it didn't bother me a bit! I got to wear my boots and yellow rain jacket (yellow's my favorite color by the way :) and jump in all the puddles!!! We had a great time even though it was wet, Caitlyn loved the music and I was smiling ear to ear pretty much the whole time. Dad even took me down close to the stage so I could see Willie up close and dance along with everybody. It was so fun!!!

Caits on the move..

Check out Caitlyn, she started "scooting" the other day... pretty good moves Caits!!

Labor day weekend!

So, when I was about 6 months old, mom and dad took me on this awesome hike to a huge waterfall so mom and dad figured it was time for Caitlyn to get to check it out as well!

Mom, Dad, Caits and the pups drove Hood River for a little camp out at Tucker County Park and then did the hike the next day. I think Caitlyn even got to check out a winery and hit up Double Mountain brewery before heading home.. Lucky Girl!!!

... and check out the dogs, I think they both wanted to sit next to Caitlyn!

I actually opted out so I could hang with Yiayia and Papou for a couple days. They are getting ready to head back to Colorado so I wanted to be sure to get some quality time in with them before they left! We did so many fun things - we went swimming, hit the farmers market, found a super fun playground and even did some baking!

Check out pics of me on that same hike at 6 months!

Caitlyn - 6 months old!

Wow... Can you believe Caits is 6 months old already?? She's growing up so fast!

She started eating real food about 2 weeks ago and seems to be a BIG fan. I think her favorites are sweet potatoes and butternut squash but I've yet see her "reject" anything... She's tried avocado, green beans, pears, nectarines, beets, bananas, and i'm sure a couple others.

Let's see what else I can tell you about her... She's now rolling both ways and can "roll" her way to get things she wants. She started using a high chair and can almost sit up by herself. She "chatting" all the time but I can't really understand what she's saying quite yet :). I think she says "da-da" sometimes! She loves it when I sing to her and read her books and I even get her to giggle at me every once in a while.

I LOVE having a little sister and now I'm super excited because she gets to come to school with me!!!! She officially started daycare this week in my old "Motion Peanut" classroom. She gets to hang out with my teachers from last year too so I know she's in good hands!! Can you tell I'm kind of proud of her?

A new spin on bathtime...

I wanted to pitch in with Caitlyn's bath... I think mom really appreciated me helping out!
