Labor day weekend!

So, when I was about 6 months old, mom and dad took me on this awesome hike to a huge waterfall so mom and dad figured it was time for Caitlyn to get to check it out as well!

Mom, Dad, Caits and the pups drove Hood River for a little camp out at Tucker County Park and then did the hike the next day. I think Caitlyn even got to check out a winery and hit up Double Mountain brewery before heading home.. Lucky Girl!!!




... and check out the dogs, I think they both wanted to sit next to Caitlyn!

I actually opted out so I could hang with Yiayia and Papou for a couple days. They are getting ready to head back to Colorado so I wanted to be sure to get some quality time in with them before they left! We did so many fun things - we went swimming, hit the farmers market, found a super fun playground and even did some baking!

Caitlyn - 6 months old!

Wow... Can you believe Caits is 6 months old already?? She's growing up so fast!

She started eating real food about 2 weeks ago and seems to be a BIG fan. I think her favorites are sweet potatoes and butternut squash but I've yet see her "reject" anything... She's tried avocado, green beans, pears, nectarines, beets, bananas, and i'm sure a couple others.

Let's see what else I can tell you about her... She's now rolling both ways and can "roll" her way to get things she wants. She started using a high chair and can almost sit up by herself. She "chatting" all the time but I can't really understand what she's saying quite yet :). I think she says "da-da" sometimes! She loves it when I sing to her and read her books and I even get her to giggle at me every once in a while.

I LOVE having a little sister and now I'm super excited because she gets to come to school with me!!!! She officially started daycare this week in my old "Motion Peanut" classroom. She gets to hang out with my teachers from last year too so I know she's in good hands!! Can you tell I'm kind of proud of her?

Some family time...

Yes, this is my family. We're a little wacky at times, but all in all it's a pretty fun family to be a part of :)... Since my cousins were in town we took the opportunity to get some good pics together. Us kids got to jump off Uncle John and Aunt Jennifer's steps - check out how high TJ's can jump - holy cow!!! We had so much fun trying to all jump at the same time... we probably need a little more practice but I think we a did pretty good job for our "photo shoot: :).

Backyard antics...

It was pretty hot over the weekend, so I had to show Leo and TJ how we keep cool around here.... backyard + sprinkler :)

do JUMP!

Well, we've had quite the busy week... my cousins Leo and TJ came to visit with their dad (Uncle Andrew) so we made sure to do lots of fun things with them while they were here!! I think one of my favorite things was the "Do Jump" show at Washington park. I was mesmerized by the performers!!! They were so talented and funny - I watched very intently, I didn't want to miss a beat!! We had a fun group up there too - my friends Sadie and Stu met us up there, Uncle John and Aunt Jennifer came and of course Yiayia and Papou (you didn't think they would miss out did you?? :). My friend Bailey was there too, but I only got to see her at the very end - I think she liked it too!

Outing to the local farmer's market...

Mom took us girls for a little outing this morning to the locals Farmer's Market... dad had to go to NY for work so he had to miss out but we bought some yummy berries he can enjoy when he gets back! Amazingly we actually got to the market EARLY this a.m. (when do we ever get anywhere early???)... but it worked out because I got to spend some time playing at the playground before the opening bell (and yes they actually ring a bell when the market opens... who knew!).


I found this awesome ladder thing that playground that I climbed like 10 times... it was super fun!

Hitting the trails...

I've been wondering all summer when I was going to get to do some hiking... Don't get me wrong, I've gotten to do lots of hikes with mom and dad but usually I'm on dad's back so technically I wasn't REALLY hiking... So yesterday I got to hit the dirt and log some trail time! The whole family tagged along (yes, Bruno and Mazie too :). I really had fun and am already looking forward to my next hike!



We ended the hike with a fun picnic and concert at Washington park... the dogs got to hang with us there too! We even got a compliment on how well behaved they were - can you believe that?!?

Houston Visit July 2010

Well, it's hard to tell by this picture, but we all had a great time in Houston :). It was pretty hot outside so we were sure to spend lots of time at the pool... I LOVED going to the pool and "swimming" with my mom. I got pretty good at jumping off the edge too - it was so fun! I got to spend lots of time with my cousins Megan and Cam - we did our best to keep Granny on her toes! Dad had some work to do in Houston so I got to sleep at Granny's house with Megan - we had fun!

We didn't let Grandpa and Miss Martha off the hook either- we had them blowing us bubbles and singing us songs.... we even got them to brave the heat and take us to the playground!! Unfortunately we didn't get to see Aunt Terri, but Uncle Neil spent lots of time with us. He was really fun and pretty silly... he made me laugh a lot!

It was Caitlyn's first time flying on a plane. I didn't get to fly with her since dad and I were on different flights then mom and Caits, but I think she did great and I heard she gots LOTS of compliments :). It was fun getting to introduce my little sister to my family in Houston. I'm pretty proud of her :)
